BBQ IN Blue jeans: We have already booked for next year! Bring your dancing shoes! Join us for our very popular annual fundraiser on Friday, January 17, 2014. Doors open at 6:00PM and dinner is at 7:00PM. Wear your blue jeans and enjoy a great barbeque dinner from Moore's Barbeque including ribs, chicken, sides and dessert.

 

Funds raised at this event help support the many activities of the New Bern Firemen's Museum including their plans to restore the Central Fire Station, circa 1928, located on Broad Street. The building will house interactive exhibits as well as the many important relics that have already been collected to further demonstrate the City's legacy of firefighting. Attendees at BBQ in Blue Jeans will be able to make their own history by purchasing a 4"x8" brick or 8"x8" paver to leave a legacy in support of this capital project.

 

central fire station renovation campaign: The Friends of the Firemen's Museum is in the process of raising $500,000 to restore the Central Fire Station on Broad Street to its 1928 appearance, reinterpret existing exhibits and install new interactive exhibits in the restored space. There are many exciting opportunities to name an area or an exhibit in memory or in honor of a loved one. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the museum or talk to a Friends of the Museum Board Member. Contributions for the restoration project can be mailed to the New Bern Firemen's Museum.

 

Fire Safety Programs: New Bern Fire-Rescue offers a variety of education opportunities for adults, as well as children. The Fire Prevention Bureau offers Fire Extinguisher Classes, as well as a variety of lecture presentations on Fire Life Safety Education.
